Three Cat Softball Players Ink Their College Deal!

Tara Hibbler

Tara Hibbler is a 1 year member of the Piedmont Softball Program.  This year, Tara started 32 games, hitting .364 with 8 doubles, and 22 RBIs.  Defensively, she lead our team in chances with 125 and a had a fielding % of .920.   Tara was to the 5A/6A All-Region team and a 2nd Team SS in 5A-2.

Today, Tara will be signing with with Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which is located in Weatherford, OK. Southwestern is an NCAA school that competes in the Great American Conference. Kim Maher,  the head coach at Southwestern couldn't be more excited about signing Tara and had this to say:

“We are excited to have Tara sign and become part of the SWOSU softball family. Tara is the type of student athlete who will help get our program to the next level.  She has the potential to hit the long ball along being a player with a high on base %. I look forward to watching her develop over the next four years while contributing to the programs success.”

Piedmont Softball would like to thank Tara for all of her hard work and dedication and congratulate her on this special day for her and her family.

Molly McDermott

4 year member of the program and part of 2 state tournament teams and two district title teams.  This year, Molly had a breakout season for us, She hit .437, 12 doubles (2nd on team), 8 homeruns (most on team), 38 RBIs (3rd on team), and had a .958 Slugging (highest on team).  This year she was named 1st team all district in 5A-2, a 5A/6A All-Region player, and finally she named a 2018 First Team All-Stater.

Today, Molly will be signing a national letter of intent with Murray State, which is located in Tishimingo, OK.  Aaron Mullins, the head coach at Murray St couldn't be here today, but wanted sent me something to read on his behalf.

 “Murray State College Softball is excited to announce the addition of Molly McDermott for the class of 2019.  We believe Molly will have an immediate impact, especially on the offensive side. She has a tremendous amount of power.  Furthermore, she has a great work ethic and is highly regarded by her coaches and teammates. Additionally, throughout the recruitment process, the attribute that stood out the most is her willingness to be a great teammate no matter the circumstance.  We are thrilled for her to be a part of our family at Murray State College.”

Tori McNabb is a 3 year member for Piedmont High School and part of two state tournament teams and 2 district title teams.  Tori was named Honorable Mention 5A-2 All-District this year. On the season, Tori went 9-2 with 40 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched.   She finished the season with a 2.56 ERA.

Today, Tori  will be signing with Northern Oklahoma College, which is located in Enid, OK. Jana Williams, the head Coach at NOC couldn’t be here today, but  sent this to be read on her behalf.

I couldn’t be more excited that Tori has chosen to be apart of the Jets softball program. I believe Tori will make a huge impact to our pitching staff next year, especially with the movement of her curve ball and her willingness to make adjustment on the mound.  I feel she will see considerable time on the mound as a freshman and I’m looking forward to seeing her develop throughout her next two years at NOC Enid.
